5K Candy Cane Classic Walk/Run
Sunday November 4th, Mend-A-Body Solutions held it's first annual Candy Cane Classic 5K to benefit the YWCA of Central Maine. The YWCA of Central Maine has been an invaluable asset and member of the Lewiston-Auburn community for over 130 years. Providing swim lessons and the only public pool that is regulation-size that is utilized by three high school swim teams and the public, the Y also offers an array of services and programs like a summer day camp program and childcare. When the reality of the current economic slump hit home, the non-profit was forced to close its doors. Generous community members and business owners, like the Gendrons, donated funds to keep the Y open, challenging the non-profit and the community to match those funds.
With over 130 participants, Mend-A-Body Solutions raised over $3000.00 with this event helping the YWCA towards their $1 million goal!
Thank you to everyone who was involved, and we hope to see you next year!
